When someone calls looking for information the first step is for the therapist to schedule a short telephone session to get some information about what is going on and what they are looking for in a therapist. If what Rachael offers might be helpful she will meet with the individual.
If the therapy is for a child, she will meet with parents or caregivers in order to collect information about the family, answer any questions and discuss the process. The child then attends sessions in the playroom either alone or with their parent(s) or caregiver(s) present. The therapist will meet with the parent(s) or caregiver(s) again after a few sessions to confirm that the fit between child, therapist, and therapy style are likely to be helpful. Parent/Caregiver meetings will be held as necessary to discuss the therapeutic process and how families could be helpful in supporting change for the child.
